In the Italian army tanks M13 / 40 and M14 / 41 were used in all theaters of military operations, except for the Soviet-German front.

In North Africa, the tanks M13 / 40 appeared on January 17, 1940, when the 21st separate battalion of the double-ended composition was formed. Later, another 14 tank battalions were formed, armed with machines of this type. Part of the battalions had a mixed mix of M13 / 40 and M14 / 41, during the fighting and units, and military equipment was often transferred from the compound to the compound and reassigned to different divisions and corps. In the Balkans, a mixed regiment was deployed from the battalion M13 / 40 and armored vehicles AB 40/41. As part of the troops controlling the islands of the Aegean Sea (Crete Island and the adjacent archipelago), there was a mixed tank battalion of M13 / 40 and L3 tanks in Sardinia was the 16th battalion M14 / 41.
